Just found these on ebay and want to make sure they will fit. Im pretty sure there were no changes between 2012 to 2014 but the add only says 2012 so just want to double check. Please dont flame me for this. Also is this something you can do at home with jack stands and some spring compressor tools.

You will need to replace the front struts with 13' model year struts then they will fit the 14'.

whats different with the struts. Also are there any other good options out there for springs that are direct fit. Im just looking to give it a nice stance nothing too crazy. Springs are the one thing i have never dealt with.

After a lot of research that didn't give a definitive answer, including one member who's shop didn't tell him the real fitment issue, another member tried a set & confirmed the spring perch of the strut is different for the '14's.

I hope there was a good reason for ford changing the perch like that. Cause it is appearing to be a big pain in the ass. So the 13 strut will pop in without any problem? then this kit will work?

If the springs are for the 12 & up Focus, should be fine. I know that Eminaga on here has a 14, ran Vogtland springs for the 12-13 cars and changed to 12-13 m.y. struts and is running fine. And pretty sure there's a couple others that are running Sportlines using same parts swap method.

As far as Ford changing the configuration, it probably save a few bucks in parts & labor for manufacturing, help the bottom line and stock prices. They're not too worried about aftermarket springs & such!

My guess, and hope, since I bought a 2014, is that they changed it to resolve the problem with elusive and persistent noises in the front suspension. I'm fine with the stock ride height, but would not be at all happy if mine were to start making those noises. It will be interesting to see whether any 2014s that have been retrofitted with 2013 struts start making those noises, but no stock 2014s do.

The other thing I've wondered about is whether this change is part of what will be different for 2015 and they just got a head start with putting it into production in the 2014s. That would make us 2014 owners unwitting beta testers, but if it prevents that noise problem I'm OK with that, too. After the 2015s start selling I hope we'll be able to tell whether the struts are different again, or the same as for 2014. If the same, then as more '15s are sold the aftermarket spring makers will have more incentive to make them for our cars.
