Convert DBW to a cable on 2010?
So, its well known that the DBW system in the second gen focus is a major bottleneck when making higher power levels and there is an extreme lack of aftermarket support for such. I was wondering if anyone makes a cable conversion for the TB. If not, would it be possible to swap over the entire TB and cable assembly from say an ST and tune for it? I would really like to upgrade the intake downstream the MAF prior to going turbo so I can make better power.
Thanks in advance, PowerFocer |

i would imagine you'd need the intake manifold (maybe?), throttle body and perhaps the ECU from an 05-07 to make it work. or we can always beg CFM to make one for us lol.

Not sure why you would need the IM or ECU. The TB/cable should be pretty easy to go in and should work with a tune.

i just say IM and ECU just in case! in case any small changes were made to either one. the intake manifolds on the 2005-2009 and 2010 Mustang GT's are silghtly different if i remember correctly and they're the same engine. ~shrugs~

I'd be figuring the difference on the manifolds. And of course you need the TB. E-mail or call Rnady or Vic at Fwerks & see what they use & do. I've had no problem w/ any mustangs whether a v/6, 5.0 or boss 302 w/ track pkg or the GT500. They get w/ the program w/ d by w.

I Think This is a Big Problem
The computer strategy for a DBW system is based on the electronic control of the throttle opening and the computer adjusts it based on engine load and pedal angle. Without the pedal angle the computer won't know what to do!
Its been a while since I played with this stuff but don't think there is any easy way to do this as I understand the pin-outs on the earlier processors are different. Actually DBW systems tend to really improve fuel economy and performance. What are you looking for? Village T |

^^I would say, probably looking for better drivablility and performance. One of the few things I hate on my WRX, the DBW just can't keep up with my rev matching. It could be improved with a tune, I know, but I'm not willing to risk my powertrain warranty.
