Svt block and crank

What's the maximum horsepower the stock svt block and crank can handle before breaking?

Depends on how much you want to build it. The rule of thumb with the SVT is anything over 300hp needs a proper bottom end built.

I have seen some zetecs over 600hp on the stock block that has been built for the power.

There is never a maximum.
There are however situations where things like detonation can be more prevalent and cause damage if not accounted for or tuned correctly.

That said, the blocks and cranks have done north of 500 more than a handful of times.
Good tuning and you'll have no issues.

Thanks guys. This winter I will be seeing how far I can push this motor till it breaks. And it will be higher than 500whp. As for tuning, I have that covered.

The block is strong, I dont know if I've ever heard of any one cracking the block without the rods being the cause. I think 600whp has been done, if I'm not mistaken. Thats like 700 at the crank.

depending on how far north youre going, o-rings may be in order for the head. Thats still uncharted territory.

Good Luck! Can't wait to see the numbers.

What to look forward to:

Thanks. But if I go o-ring for the head. I can't daily drive the car. That's strictly only for racing. I like to drive it on the street too.

What does o-ringing have to do with street or race? Use copper head gaskets annealed properly and hylomar around the water jackets.
