I got the upper the day before. And there is no room to top mount an M90, clear the distributor, and close the hood. Its either going to be a side mount or there's going to be some chopping done to the hood.

Or I might just mount it to the B2 instead.

Of course I did pull the entire harness and ecu from the Explorer as well so I don't have to have a distributor...

it's only about 5.5" inches tall isn't it? If you got rid of the distributor.... well no, there's still the fuel rails in the way. Maybe.

I'm drawing a side/offset mount that replaces the upper, but It looks ugly. I'll post it up somewhere. It won't work as easily on the gt40 lower because of the offset, but with inline port design, it should work.

I think I get you. What about using an F150 5.0 lower? It has larger holes, but still inline.

I'll check it out!

Yeah I was bored...but sloppy bored. I just ran out to measure the space anyway. Plenty of room to clear the brake booster (even the fuse box I think). 8" between the outermost of the valve cover and the strut tower, and 14" from the fuel rail to the strut tower. mount it sideways, make a simple intake manifold (maybe even just run a tube from the upper to the outlet of the SC) and build a bracket. I have about 2-3" from the top of my tensioner to the hood.... all you'd have to do is keep moving the SC towards that strut tower until the pulley fits under the hood.



Just remembered even the belt routing won't work for you... but I needed something to take the place of the AC compressor I took off the top of it.

Yeah I wanted to side mount it where the AC was but the M90 is too big. Plus I have a PS pump where you have the SC located.

mm, you wouldn't be able to get the snout low enough to clear the hood. if it's completely sideways, you're looking at 8" tall from the top of the valve cover to get it that close to the distributor. BUT, look at moving the alternator somewhere else and trying to mount it on that side, maybe? like this, which gave me the idea:


Came across this one too. pretty neat. but probably no room up front.
