at least forged stuff for these engines are cheaper.

Yup. And I had planned on a side mount where the stock ac should be if I found a turbocoupe SC. But a top mount would be so much more impressive.

yes it would be but then you'd have to make a manifold which is something I probably wouldn't want to do. I don't think.

too bad the old Kenne bell one isn't available. that was a top mount and the pulley mounted where the ac was.

Not much progress today. Installed the sway bar.


I did pick up some Thunderbird TREs. The Mustang ones work, but I like that there will be more thread depth on these.


Also did a little more work to the filler tube.

Found a complete 5.0 Explorer today. Got the upper. Going back tomorrow for the lower and possibly the heads.


Also got the hatch all finished up minus building a box around the tank. But I ran the lines, extended the wiring, and installed the carpet, trim, and stress bar.


Also found out the Tbird TREs are metric so they won't work.

looks like I I'm gonna have to make a list of your old stuff I want lol.

but yeah no kidding! I searched near 20 exploders for gt40 stuff. Every single one stripped down to the block.

What year was the Tbird? if it was the MN12 then yeah it's metric. if it's the fox, then good to know.

Also, I'm hitting the junkyard today or new of the next few days. Anything special you're looking for?

Not really. Just need to get one more knuckle as a spare. How did you get the axle apart at the knuckle?

clamp the axle shaft in a vice and knock on the bearing cup with a hammer from where the boot clamps on (the lip of the bearing cup). it's just splined on so it will eventually pop out. then you can cut the boot off. After that, you just have to keep working the cage around trying to push out all the balls. then the cage will come out and you just have the cup left over. Not sure if I posted it:




edit: that reminds me... did you pick up the GT40 lower for the reason I think you did, or are you still looking for an upper? I had an idea to fit the supercharger to the lower that should be fairly simple.
