I don't really think it monitors oil life. I have my oil changed at 5000 mile increments. Oil change monitor came on at 10200 (200 miles after it was changed). It came on again after 20250 (250 miles after the oil change) This leads me to think the thing is bogus.

It is. I changed the factory oil pretty quick. I'm going to change it again soon then reset the clock and let it do its thing.
