09 Focus What Suspension To Get?
I have an 09 focus ses coupe. I want to do some suspension mods. I have been looking online at the either the H&R Sport Springs or the H&R street performance Coilovers. If I was to do just the sport springs I would also want to upgrade my shocks/struts, but all applications I find online are for 2001-2007. I will be getting the camber/caster plates etc. I want to keep my alignment as close to spec as possible.
I've tried searching around the forums to see what everyone has but haven't been that successful. At some point I also plan on upgrading my sway bars etc. What does everyone have and do you have pictures? Thanks! Here are a couple pictures since I believe a thread should not exist without pictures. ![]() ![]()

In 06 there was a front strut and spring design revision. Anything intended for 06 and later models will fit your car. 00-05 suspension components can be used as well, but you will need what's called the Omni Kit from Massive to adapt those struts to your car (its essentially a very simple shim kit). There's a lot more options available for the earlier cars so the Omni kit is often worth the extra hundred bucks it costs.

I have narrowed my search down to Ksport Kontrol Pro Coilovers, H&R Coilovers or DGR Coilovers. The Ksports and DGR stand out more due to the fact they have adjustable damper. I also like with the Ksports that you don't loose strut travel when adjusting.
I would like to keep a fairly smooth ride but would like to drop it quite a bit. I know this may be difficult since usually the lower you go the rougher ride you get. |

The lower you go the stiffer the spring needs to be to make up for the corresponding loss of suspension travel (and keep you off the bump stops). The stiffer spring is what results in the stiffer/firmer ride.
