I'm waiting around for someone to get in a PB ST1 and I hope I can free myself of the DCT / MFT before either of them become a real problem. If Tangerine Scream isn't your thing (it sure isn't mine) tell them you'll work with them on something that you actually like when they get it in.

I think you are screwed either way. BUT you're so much more screwed if you keep the DCT Focus. And the ST is going to have much higher resale value. Guaranteed drivability unless you arent good with a manual transmission but at least if you cant drive manual its your bad if the car runs like crap not fords fault like with the DCT.
I would go for it. |

I traded in my 2012 Titanium almost 3 months ago when my ST was delivered to the dealership. I couldn't get out of that DCT quick enough. New car is a whole different animal! 10/10 and no frustrations!

Yeah, my mouth is watering to have a non-DCT, non-MFT Focus. I love everything else about this car, and I'm sure a turbo would make me love it even more.

I don't know why you guys diss on the dct. My daughter has one in her fiesta. Sure... it is different than a auto we are used to. That doesn't mean it is wrong or bad. It takes some getting used to. But she isn't complaining about the 42 mpg she is getting. And unless it has left you stranded, what is there to complain about really? BTW... I have a ST3 on order.....

We diss it because its given some of us a world of trouble. Just bc your daughter has had no issues doesn't discredit those of us who have had nothing but issues. Glad it works so well for your daughter, some of us aren't so lucky...

Mine left me stranded more than once and spent over 30 days in the shop ( including a complete trans rebuild ) in the first 9 months. Its definitely a problem because my dealership is working on them weekly and acknowledges the problem. My ST has no issues at all so far so I hope that continues. Definitely a fumble on Fords part.

It is telling that they are not using the DCT in either the Fusion or Escape.
I drove in a DCT in an SEL hatch for 2200 miles and it was fine, but nothing special. Seemed like a normal automatic (except for the lethargic acceleration from a stop). Hope the OP can do a buyback and get into an ST. |

you're getting 19.5 for yours? Hell, take it man. The ST is amazing, no regrets here. I only got 18 for mine, (granted i did have an 'accident'- tire blew out and car went offroading..)
