...didn't know there was a metal housing.
And VC gasket is next on my list.

There's a company that claims they're in the process of making a metal one... Also there's an uber rare aluminum Ford OEM housing in Europe.
My car never had an oil leak, and the o-ring channel in the housing still warped.

I believe the contour one is metal and that is why people use it.

Contour is definitely plastic...just put mine on today. Seems much beefier though...

Steve at Tousley said something like he never actually sold a Contour housing for a Contour. So that's a good sign.

haha yeah. Got mine in yesterday and everything is still good today. Only "extra" thing I did on the install was clean up the side of the head a good bit where the housing mounts...
On a side note, it surprised me how much the o-ring on the plug was worn out after just a year, and how bad of shape the gasket for the housing-to-head was in the same amount of time. I just fixed all of this in January, about 12k miles ago, and it looked the same yesterday as 11 months ago. Glad I won't have to deal with this again (hopefully).

I had leaks at the sensor and the plug. I have an o-ring kit(with probably 20-25 different sizes-diameters & thicknesses). I couldn't tell you the size that I used, but I used thicker ones. I had a hard time getting the clips back on but haven't had any more leaks in over a year. Other than timing belt breaking, motor mounts, cv joints, slave cyl. and these orings leaking, no problems 160,00+ miles it's running like new.
