Ballasts:
Morimoto 3Five
Bulbs:
Morimoto 3Five H1

DS2
Projectors:
Morimoto Mini D2S 2.0 Bi-xenon
Ballasts:
Morimoto 3Five/5Five
Bulbs:
Morimoto D2S

Can anyone tell me what the difference is specifically or are the DS2's just a step above the H1's?

Also wondering if the DS2's have the same problem with the solenoid sticking on the high beam setting?

H1 is better than the D2s.
Both use the same projectors, just different bulbs.
D2s allows you to use OEM ballasts and stuff though

do the DS2 projectors have the same issue as the H1's regarding the high beam solenoid sticking?

Yes it's the same projector just a different bulb. So the same solenoid is there.

I recommend doing the pre install suggestions and also modding the lens for some color like mine!

So, lets say I've got an acquaintance that could get my solenoids coated in teflon, that would be just as good (if not better) than using the high temp lube right?

Also I plan on modding the lense (assuming you mean washer trick) to get the bluish/purple cutoff you've got. I am also going to paint the cutoff shield to get the "Blue Eyes" effect.

Teflon should work. As long as you sand it down (not too much! I used like 2000 grit sandpaper, put the solenoid plunger in a drill and spun it against the paper).

No sticking issues since i did my second set

Looking good! Got your Butyl ready?

Are they aimed and ready for the lens? Did you sand down the plungers and put some washers in to give it a blue cutoff?

Butyl: Ready

Aimed: Not yet, heading home to aim them on a long stretch of flat ground

Plungers: Sanded and sprayed with lube (they were too small for teflon coating). Couldn't find graphite Jig-A-Loo anywhere so I used liquid wrench to lube it up.

Washers: Yup, put 3 on the bottom like you did.

Excited to see what kind of output I get with these.

Hit a snag, the harness I hooked up doesn't have power to the projector plug-ins. The harness puts power to the fuse but after that, nothing. I don't think I hooked it up wrong (kinda hard) if the fuse (not burnt out) is getting power and the projector plugs aren't. We'll see what TRS says.

Is this what your harness looKS like?

A7xschecter6661: What did you do with the factory bulb plugins that don't get used with the new harness?
