I work at a Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler/Ford dealer; that price is a good deal for a dealership. As has been asked; if this is the front set you can get it done safely and correctly at home with minimal tools. You're only looking at $100-some-odd dollars worth of parts even if you rebought rotors or drums.

If you have an automotively-inclined friend, see if they'll give you a hand if you're not confident in your work yet; other than that run your search for reputable help through Google/BBB or a site like Angie's List.

Search the forum for a how-to on brake jobs here, the pictures make it easier to understand and that may bolster your conscience enough to bang this job out!

Peque, I know it's a little bit of a drive, but if you'd like to come to San Jose for a day, I'll do the work for you for free in my driveway. I'll also teach you everything you need to know to do the job yourself for the next time.

PM me if you want to make this happen.
