Wife has the iPhone 4s and it works extremely well with MFT. She has IOS 6.0.1 installed and all features work, including streaming of music via bluetooth. I guess everyone's experience is different.

I have 6.0.1 also and MFT 3.5.1 (latest). Don't get me wrong, BT streaming does work and the core of it (playing music) works. The problem is it doesn't ALWAYS totally work. Sometimes it won't show tittle/artist info, sometimes it skips, sometimes the track will auto-advance, sometimes I can't change tracks using the screen or steering wheel controls, sometimes it will be playing music but it won't show my phone name or show that it's connected. Even if this happens only 10% of the time, it's still a problem, for me at least. I'm glad your wife's experiences were flawless.

I have a 2012 Titanium and love it! I wanted the manual but didn't have the choice at the time and ended up with the DCT. I like it, if you drive it like a manual it works awesome. Do things like roll into the gas not just press it. You have to remember that it isn't a conventional torque converting auto so you can't expect to act like one. As for MFT yes it has bugs, i wont lie i have had some issue with it but the good thing is that Ford keeps releasing updates and it gets better every time. IMHO i think the MFT system is worth it, the little glitches u get every once and awhile aren't enough to make it a un-useful. In short i have a titanium with DCT and have no retreats! hope this helps

Thanks for all the feedback guys, it's much appreciated. Here's what I'm looking at buying: '13 Focus Ti 5 door with Navi, Sport Handling Package (18" rims), Park Assist and Moonroof. The only option I'm not 100% hell bent on having is the park assist feature. I think it may end up being one of those deals where you use the first couple of times and then never use it again.

I still say its a waste to not just buy an ST if you're spending that kinda money...

I have the exact car you're looking at including the self-parking. I thought it was a gimmick at first, but even though I don't use it often, it's fantastic in the city! Parks perfectly every single time.

I've had my car since June and it's got 5k miles on it now. Honestly the car is just great, I couldn't be happier. I do wish it came with memory seats and HIDs, but other than that I'm not missing anything. The DCT can be a little choppy, but I have never had a single issue with it. The MFT can be a bit laggy, and I've had one reboot since I've had it.

There are many people here that are having issues or have had them resolved. My advice to you would be to really drive the car, take it home for 24 hours if possible and check out the transmission, play with the MFT and listen for any rattles. If there are any issues give it back and look at another one.

One more thing, there are lots of threads here about issues with the car, and they are legitimate, that said there are tens or hundreds of thousands of owners that are happy and don't log on here every day to say so, so keep that in perspective when reading some of the horror stories.

Unless they can't or do not want to drive a manual, or otherwise hate the ST front end for some reason, but that could be swapped between Foci as the grille openings are the same minus the lower one right above the air dam.

I've a 2013 SE sedan with five-speed manual and Ford Sync (but not MFT). I am beyond pleased at how well the car handles. It's a joy to drive.

Ford Sync though, is another matter entirely. For me, the decision on buying the car came down to this key question: Could I accept the quirky, confusing, unintuitive, poorly-designed, and dangerously-distracting user-interface? Did my enjoyment from driving the car outweigh my disdain for Sync?

It's almost a Jekyll and Hyde thing. You have this great vehicle married to this awful Sync system. The effect is polarizing. Was I willing to suffer Sync?

The answer for me was Yes. It still is yes, but less resoundingly. And I still disdain Sync.

I have a 2013 titanium hatch with dct and mft. I dont really have any problems with either. Both are different from what I had in other cars and both have their quirks, but I would say that is the case with any new/different technology. I bought my focus as a mid/low cost commuter car. I wasnt expecting a $40k car for $25k and so far, I think the focus gives decent value for the price. Time will tell if that hold true.
