I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps the battery is becoming marginal; since the only other time I would see this behavior is after the MFT restarted.

Also, talk about bad updates, I tried to do this in my wife's Edge and the MFT suffered terminal hardware failure. After it said it would re-boot the screen went black and never came back up. The APIM is hopefully being replaced today.
MFT does not boot during remote start. It only boots once you get into the car, put your foot on the brake, and press the start button.

I have a Viper remote start and the MFT comes on-line as soon as the remote start is engaged. Also the Viper has a proper remote start->key handoff so the car never shuts off when you get in.

My OEM remote start does not shut off when I get into the car.

Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 using FF Mobile.

Same with mine. MFT also boots up when remote started. I don't have push button start though.

Weird - I just tried mine again to make sure my memory was right - my small dash screen says "remote start active", but the MFT screen is off until I get in and hit the start button.

Likewise. I also make it a point to shut off the stereo before shutting down the car during winter since there is no point in having music playing during a remote start but on some random occassions the car takes the liberty of turning it back on. I haven't really quantified it but if I had to guess, I'd say about once for every 10 or so starts.

I wonder if the behavior of the remote start / MFT changed from the '12 models to the '13 models.

Sync VersionGen2 - V3.5.1
The only oddities I am experiencing right now is that occasionally the audio input will be different from when I turned the car off previously. While not sure if this related to my sync or not, my backup camera will "lose" its guidelines (active or otherwise) frequently between restarts.
as to voice commands, I can tell it to turn climate on, turn a/c on and set temp and it will respond affirmatively, but nothing is actually working. I actually (heaven forbid) have to press the "soft" button to actually get it to start functioning. When it comes on, it will be a/c on and temp set to 70 as previously instructed during sync commands.
