Crossover location in door of '02 Focus

I just bought a nice set of Hertz components (ESK570) and now I need to find a good location to put the not so small crossover in my recently bought Ford Focus of Oct 2002.

I prefer to use a space behind the doorpanel in the door (is better for wiring both midwoofer and tweeter), but is there some space available over there?

Some pics of your install are very welcome. I already did a search and although I found a few postings about this subject, the pics weren't available anymore.

Thanks a lot!

depends how big the crossover is. i've done many component installs and various cars and can usually find someplace to put the crossover. best bet is to just pull is all apart and do some test fitting to see where you can get it.

if you cant find a place that i fits then you could still mount it behind the doors but cut an opening just big enough for the crossover and use some cheap door edge trim from wall-mart automotive section to put on the edge of the cut for a good clean look.

Thanks to both of you for replying. I need to find a spot behind the doorpanel, I'm not fond of displaying the filter through the panel.

Of course I can look for a space myself, but installing speakers and removing doorpanels is not something I do on a regular basis, so for gaining some confidence I hoped omeone could provide me with an exact fitting location. But I'll try it myself, I'm sure I will succeed somehow :-)

Cut a hole in the crash foam FTW.

That said, my x-overs are very large and sexy. So I mounted them on the amprack.

Wow, that is such a beauty, I would indeed never hide that one behind a doorpanel ;-)

Crash foam, sounds interesting...will take a look at that one for sure!
