Who Is Using LED Reverse Lights?
Looking for brighter reverse lights, and have some questions about LEDs.
First, I need something that offers good throw and spill. It seems a lot of LEDs just shoot straight out and don't really do anything useful. I've been looking at several options that have other LEDs mounted on the side, so light is thrown at the reflectors and can spread a bit. Will any LED like this offer similar spill, or do some designs work better then others? I'm also curious to know how bright some of these are. I've seen a couple that are 9 watts, which seems VERY bright...at least it is from my knowledge with LED flashlights. I have a couple that are 5 watt bulbs that are stupid bright. Don't want to blind anyone... Last, did you require resistors to avoid any warnings from JUST the reverse lights? I don't think it'll cause any issues but I'd like to know before hand. Hopefully some of ya'll used some of these and can comment...the two options I'm looking at are $50 each pair...it's gonna suck if I get one and they don't work as planned... http://www.v-leds.com/6K-WHITE-9W-LE...-p9796372.html http://www.v-leds.com/5K-WHITE-19-LE...07296-1-2.html

I used LED reverse lights, mine look really cool but the light is not thrown very well, mine look like the second set you listed, the first set looks pretty bright and my throw the light out.

![]() It lights up the back at night nicely. They would blind someone at night If they insist on eyeballing my car as i back out. I some times wish i could flick them on for tailgaters. |

They fit right in no need to add anything to them(resistors, or adapters). Just have to check them before you screw them back in. If they are not in the right position they will not light.

Do they illuminate everything behind you?
I don't really care how bright they are, I just want to see what's behind me. I've been reading a ton of reviews and it's very mixed...a lot of people say they really don't light much up (despite being very bright), and a lot of people say they work great...it does seem that more people with reverse lights in the tail light cluster are saying they don't work as well. I have a buddy who makes his own lights, I might hit him up and see what he can do. Perhaps a custom reflector would work best. I know these LEDs can do what I want them to do, it just seems like the reflectors aren't always distributing the light well enough.

Twenty has the ones like mine with pics on this page to give you an idea of light output. To me its a soft bright light to see behind me but no one behind me can claim they didnt see my lights as I am backing up.
