A/C whistling noise?

I own a 2012 SE Sport HB, equipped with a manual a/c system.

Yesterday my A/C started to make a high pitch noise when I turn the A/C speed 3.. it's not very loud, but it's starting to get annoying. It gets worse when the fan speed is higher.

Is anybody experiencing this same issue?... It sounds like a wind whistle (if it makes any sense) :P thanks!

You may want to check that all of your vents are open. I noticed that, after cleaning, my vents are inadvertently closed, which induces a "whining" type noise. When one or more vents are closed the car forces the same amount of air through the remaining vents, causing the whining.

Check the vents first.

Mine does this too. It is only on speed 3 and 4, and yes, it can get annoying.

I have checked vents, and it still does it. sounds like it comes from inside the center vents behind the stereo.

You might also check the cabin air filter to see if it is seated correctly in the slot.

Thank you all for your replies.
Mine does it even with the vents open... but it gets worse when I have them closed (I'm always driving alone). It's weird because it started doing it a couple days ago (32,000 Km)... I'm guessing there is something loose inside, due to the awful/bumpy roads here in my city.

A/C noises

I just started hearing a pulsating whistling noise from my A/C, too! I adjusted one of the vents yesterday, and I started hearing it today. It seems alot cooler, too. I would be freezing at 1, but I had it at 2 and it was still hot Thank you for the advice in all the previous posts! I will be sure to try everything

Strange - I get a whistling noise from the compressor (it does not change with fan speed or vent position), that comes and goes (it doesn't make the noise every time the compressor is on). Anyone else experience this, and is it normal?

well... just as an update

My car stopped doing the whistling noise, it's been like that for one week now. I didn't have to do anything... the problem solved itself

Strangely enough, mine stopped doing it as well. A few weeks ago now that it has stopped. Odd i know.
