Adusting the hood gap?

Different pictures of ST have a variety of gaps in the hood front gap.
So is this just a matter of adjusting the rubber bumper stops at the sides? ir does one need to lower the hood locking mechanism down in the front frame?

Or do some ST actually have a problem with the way the hood is placed?

This isn't an interior question or on my car but I to would like to know. My mk1 (.5) has a gap that id like to decrease. Tried adjusting the bumpers to no effect.
