Impossible but True??

2012 Titanium. wife pht the key fob on the seat and closed the door. i went back and THE CAR IS LOCKED, KEYS INSIDE. red exclamation mark is blinking on the dash. what happened and how do i get in? other fob is not available.

i guess i need to mention i have the keyless entry/proximity fob feature. hiw is this locked...the fob is INSIDE the car. is my system glitching??

in summary is it a feature of the focus to lock itself and ignore the key fob in the car or is it a glitch.

Sounds like a security issue. If your by me and have a metal coat hangar I could help lol. Maybe it's an issue for ford road side assistance

It happened to me as well. I locked my keys in the trunk before. I think it has to do with the older BCM software. If you touch the outside of your handle to lock the doors twice, does your horn honk?

I was under the impression that with the new BCM programming, the horn does not honk.

The BCM update fixed some issue with the car not unlocking when using the key FOB, though I don't know if that is the IA key FOB or the base model ones (or both.)

One day I tried every possible way to lock my fob in the car and it just wouldn't do it. No matter how or where I put the fob and manipulated the environment, my car always unlocked or popped the hatch. Then one morning I couldn't find my fob. I went into the garage and it was laying inside the cup-holder, with the car locked. Luckily I had my second fob nearby, but I think that there is the possibility that there is a time-delay that locks the car back up if someone hasn't come to retrieve the fob.

How long was the delay between her shutting the door and you realizing that it was locked in the car?

a while. like overnight. must b what happened. hatch is locked too. other key wont b avail until tomorrow. no huge thing. mostly wanna know if i have an isseu that needs fixing.

no honk when touching the handle, then again, nothing at all happens. ill ask fir all the latest software next tine im at Ford service
