Subaru imprezza 2.5 engine into a focus zx3??

My buddy has a Subaru imprezza engine with the 2.5 with a bad rod bearing I can get the motor for cheap just wondering if there's anyway it would fit into my 2000 focus zx3

You can make anything fit but is it worth it? No. Not unless you have mad fabrication skills and a huge shop filled with every tool you can think of.

I remember someone with that drivetrain on hand looking into the swap a while ago, didn't come close to fitting after a bit of measurement.

The V8 swap is easier. (complete RWD drivetrain)

Engine for engine it's not remotely possible, the current driveshaft passes through the cylinder location of the Subaru engine for starters.
