Just seal that hole up, deaden it and get rid of those cheap 6x8s for a nice set of 6.5" components.

i would do a 8: sub run it as a mid and put a set of components upfront. set the crossover for the 8's at about 50hz up to 250hz set the mid for the component from 150hz to 3500hz then the tweet from the component from 3500hz up. a 4channal amp with the 2 8s bridged on the rear channel and the front component set wire to the front channel.
