2002 2.0 SPI turning over no start

Hey guys.

Y'all have saved my bacon more then once I am hoping you can help here.

I have a 2002 2.0 SPI engine with 125K on it.

Last night I had issues starting it, it would crank and try to turn over but no joy, finally it started. Drive it ten miles. Parked it for two hour maybe three hours, same thing only this time it never started. Towed it to the house, this morning started right up.

Here's what I know (or think I do)

Fuel pump I can hear when key turns

Starter is turning

Engine is turning

Battery is charged

I had a similar issue a few weeks back, changed out the plugs and was good to go no issues.

Here is what I am thinking

Bad ignition coil

Fuel Filter

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
