Help?

So today I came across this..

Pretty sure I need a mechanic for this but it's the weekend and this is my daily drive. It still turns on but i'm afraid to drive it. So until then, out of curiosity and running the risk of being bashed by all you professionals:

What's going on here?

Looks like the cable didnt have enough slack. You can go to the parts store and buy a repair kit. Its a general kit and not car specific. I did it on my wifes car when hers did the samething. Works fine.

If it is running down towards the engine its the main battery to engine ground cable, it bolts to the block/trans down by the starter. As cheap as it has become I would go and buy the cables and redo them to get rid of those cheap ends on there.

If you shop around you may be able to get them cheaper, this was just an example.
