It was raining yesterday so I'll start with the tools you'll need:

Wire stripper
Wire cutters
Test light
Solder
A torch or lighter
Between a 22 and 18 gauge wire about three feet should be enough (Depending where you want the button)
1-2 Shrink tubes
A drill with a 1/2 bit (Start smaller so nothing snaps)
Diode

Momentary button

That should be the list. I'll attempt to make a video today or at least pictures.

What size diode did you use? Volts and amps?

I did a diagram tonight but I have to make sure it's the blue cable with a white stripe before I post the image.

------------------------
A change to the items you'll need:

A 22 to 18 gauge cable long enough to get to your battery. Along with one proper terminal to connect to the battery.

Great. Looking forward to it. I just got all my parts today to get this setup and it would be awesome to get it done this weekend.

Finally! The time has come!

Here are the images and just a simple video showing how to make sure you've got the proper cable at the trunk release.

http://youtu.be/e5rr9vPtpwg

The cable to insert the test light into
The location of the button
Underneath the plate
Close-up of the mess
This should explain the steps

If you have any additional questions, I'd be more the happy to help.

So the blue wire under the dash, was that connected and you cut it? or are there 2 separate blue wires?
