Mystery door on center console?

I've just noticed on the passenger side of my center console next to where the passenger's left knee would be, there is a mystery panel. I haven't tried to open it beyond prying with my finger nails (without results).

Its a parallelogram shaped panel approx 3x3"

Anyone know what this is? Maybe I can use it to install USB ports..

It sounds like the access door to remove the passenger side panel. If it's the one I think you're describing you should be able to open it up and get access to the USB2 input. There's a thread that provides step by step instructions on how to do it.

Awesome! Thanks for the insight. I'll update this thread if I get around to exploring what's behind that door.

If you look up the post re: the 2nd usb port you can see the panel removed. That helped me visual where the prongs are for easier removal of the actual panel
