Engine bay pic
So, I have been very busy and realized that I have not been sharing enough with this community. I will explain a few of the obvious questions below the pic and feel free to ask anything you want.
![]() 2005 ZX4 2.0 MTX-75 The engine is internally stock w/ 140K miles Tuned header Yes, I used intercooler piping to make the CAI No, it is not turbo......yet. I have done so many mods to the car, that I dont know where to begin. Just ask me anything that sparks your interest and I will be happy to explain. Also, let me know if you want close-up pics of anything. Just in case you were wondering, I have not had any problem outrunning Honda 2.0 SI's. I have not gone up against one of the new 2.4's though. |

Wow, only a year older than mine but almost twice as many miles.
That's quite a shield over the intake manifold, is it stock as well? You appear to have done a lot to the cooling system, but what exactly?

I drive at least 50 miles a day round trip to work, mostly city traffic. The car gets a lot of hard miles.
Yes, the IM is stock. I have removed the Tumble Flap / EGR / Crankcase Ventilation systems. I wrapped the IM with insulation and made the heat shield to try and minimize heat from the radiator. The cooling system still operates in its stock configuration. I simply replaced the tank and lines, mostly for looks, but the plastic tank was getting old. |

Well thats a unique engine bay.
How much work was it getting that custom heat shield fitted and installed around the header? Last edited by rambleon84; 11-19-2012 at 01:31 PM. |

Where's the engine gone. All those fancy looking covers have all but hidden where all the controlled explosions happen!

Looks great Daryl. Whats the point for the sheild over the stock I/M? Looks perhaps? Did you pull off the egr valve? Or just have it shut off w/ your tune? If pulled off= What'd you do w/ the coolant connections? As I can't see that in the pic's. I would recommend a set of Cranes #224-0010. They work awesome for a DD motor. Looks like you been busy.

Wow you made that header? I've never seen one like that for a Duratec. Looks like a old shorty header for the zetec, but I'm sure it's way better lol.
