rear brakes??

I herd on here once before that you can use meccery cougar rear disc brake converson has any body done this or know its true any in sight on this? Then secondly if you change from drums on the rear to discs do you have to rebalance your master cyclinder or anything like that to make it work all good with out locking up the rear wheels?????

Generally any time you switch that needs to be looked at. I know that drums have pressure limiting valves at the line exit from the m/c, the little cylinders. If pulling parts from a yard car look at the setup on m/c and follow lines to see if any proportioning valve stuck in there somewhere.

Assuming non-ABS here.

I'd be figuring out what the old FRPP's svt brake conversion comes w/. As it was designed to up grade from rear drums to disc brakes. On a few foxbody brake upgrades I pulled out the proportioning valve & spring out.

I used to swap V8 brakes for 6 cyl. on drag cars, not swapping or modding proportioning setup could make for some screwy braking issues. Even did some backward front disc to drum conversions for weight loss, it could be 50 lbs. difference.............

Yeah, There are a few kits out there. Baer, Stainless steel & a lot more. A great one I like is the frpp's that uses the pbr calipers='93 Cobra setup or you could use the '94-'95 cobra setup for 5lug wheels. I remember frpps & Baer's were similiar.
