Bunch of hooey and hearsay if you ask me. That article quotes a UK-based Automotive Express article, which states the starting UK price as £25k . Which is about $40k in USD. In any case, there's very little chance, if any, that the RS will see the US market.

Weight, complexity, and cost are what the RS team says. They think a trick LSD and suspension setup will allow the car to be faster and handle better than if it had AWD. I'm inclined to disagree, like many others.

You can't just convert the price from GBP to USD. It doesn't work like that for auto sales. A closer estimate is to add about 3-5k onto the price.

For example, look at ST prices. Almost the same identical car:
FOCUS ST-1 from £21,995
FOCUS ST-2 from £23,495
FOCUS ST-3 from £25,495

Focus ST-1 from $24,995
Focus ST-2 from $26,880
Focus ST-3 from $28,930

Ah, good catch, I should have recognized that. Watching so many episodes of Top Gear have trained me to mentally convert car values in pounds to dollars.
