13/16 vs 7/8 wheel cylinders....
For 2000, the automatics had 13/16 and the manuals 7/8.
Later years both had 7/8 (parents 2002 sedan) For 2000, are the 13/16 and 7/8 easily swappable? The reason I'm asking is my wagon with the 13/16 has the annoying hum/squeal from the rear but my parents with the 7/8 doesn't. If I brake a little harder or a little less braking, I can get rid of the squeal; but it seems that the braking I need hits the squeal zone. So, can I replace the 13/16 with 7/8 wheel cylinders to hopefully avoid the squeal with a little more rear braking. Locking up wouldn't be a problem as I have ABS.....

It may cause to much braking in the rear and stat to throw off the balance of braking. If you read the tsb on rear brake squeal and follow it such as cleaning the contact points well and using the proper grease and a high quality shoe composition it should take care of your squeal.

I don't think it will throw braking balance OFF. Just change it a little.
The manual transmissions in 2000 had the 7/8 cylinders and later model automatics also had the 7/8 cylinders.............

They might bolt right in, I'd actually be surprised if they didn't - betting you're not seeing many replies because no-one has actually tried it to be able to confirm this for you...

Figured I answer my own question as I did this months ago.....
Status report: No problems with the 7/8 cylinders. Brake feel actually seems better. No annoying rear brake noise and No problems with the ABS system (tested on wet road)
