Looking for advice on MAF sensor replacement (05 D20)

I need to replace the MAF sensor on my 05 ZX3 D20, and looking at replacement sensors i am somewhat torn. I would like to replace it with a Motorcraft one, but those are around $170. Has anyone had a good experience with using a cheaper one madr by a different brand?

Thanks, John

Have you tried cleaning it?

I tried cleaning it a few weeks ago but it didn't change anything. I have been getting rather poor milage (last tank 22mpg with conservative driving) over the past 3 months and the engine often stumbles at idle.

Try Rock Auto, $51 for a non-oem reman'ed MAF and $125 for a MotorCraft reman'ed MAF.

No experience with one, but they are easy to change and you save $120.

You cleaned it with CRC MAF cleaner?

Im just a little worried about getting a non oem reman MAF. Plus the Motorcraft reman MAF carries a core change which makes the total around $160. I was interested in possibly getting a non oem new replacement one, but wanted to see if anyone else has tried one. I didnt clean it with CRC MAF cleaner, but no improvement.

I assume that you get the core charge back when you return the core.

You say you didn't clean it with CRC MAF cleaner, so what did you use?

If thats the case i may do that, i trust an oem reman over an aftermarket unit. I wish a brand new oem MAF wasn't $230 or i would just get that.

I apologize i mean to say i did clean it with CRC
