Let's make it clear for other forum members. The Escort you're talking about has the Sierra platform. Not an Escort platform modified to fit the Sierra Drivetrain. The platform was already setup for a longitudinally mounted engine. Also, this isn't a case of vehicle sharing the same platform but having different architecture.
