I confused. I installed 3.2.2 (I have NAV) and it broke my climate controls, is this covered per the TSB to fix the climate controls. It this the BIG fix or will Ford post a new update on syncmyride.com? I’m assuming everyone with NAV will need to upgrade to A4, right?????

It's not a big fix, but it does fix climate controls if you were like me and waited around to avoid going to the dealership. The A4 card is not optional with this upgrade, but you will probably have to demonstrate some need for repair to get the card.

I just finished the install. It takes about 75 minutes. I did the master reset before the install as the TSB recommends.

Seems much smoother, and faster. And few new features to boot!

1. Auto pairing of my phone. I did not have to input a pin to pair the Bluetooth. The phone and Sync both displayed a pin and asked if it matched. Very nice!

2. I got an alert on the Information quad (No-Nav) about my Sirius sub being expired. Never saw that before.

As for USB music, mine works just fine. No issues playing MP3's.

I will report more if I notice anything.

Just tried it and it used my iPhone 5 as a USB and Bluetooth media player just fine. All my music as well is on iTunes Match, so it is not stored on my phone either and indexed it perfectly. Cool.

What do you mean by "demonstrate"? The fact that my climate voice commands no longer work enough? Or should I wait until I see something on SMR?

Yeah that's good enough I think. Take the TSB number with you and show them you can't use voice for climate, they'll have a problem code to charge Ford against then.

What exactly is the BIG fix?

Is this new version the completely rewritten from the ground up MFT with 0 bugs? No.

That is a good question.

It is clearly not acceptable that Ford did not specifically address this issue.
They broke it. They should fix it.

The TSB states "concerns with navigation, voice recognition, call sound quality, phone pairing and/or system performance" as the issues. If your climate control doesn't response to voice commands, I would push that it falls under "voice recognition"...
