It doesn't show up on SMR for you because right now it is on TSB and not a mandatory update. Keep in mind that if you have Nav and self-install by downloading it from the link in the pdf of the TSB, your Nav will not work. The update requires a new Nav card (A4).

Hey guys. How can I tell what version I have? There must be a ver. # somewhere that's visible.

Are you registered on syncmyride.com yet? You can see your install history there under the "Sync Updates" tab. Current version is Gen2 - V3.5.1.

Yes. The dealer set me up. Looks like I'm running ver. 3.34.4 Probably a silly question, but should I expect much of a difference with ver. 3.5.1?

Are you sure it is 3.34.4? That is not a version of MFT. The last few have 3.0.1, 3.2.2, and the current 3.5.1.

For further clarification, my car says it's running Nav ver. 3.34.4 with an A4 card installed. However syncmyride.com shows Gen2 - V3.0.2 It seems the ver. 3.34.4 pertains to just the navigation and not the MFT. Is that correct? Either way, it looks like I need to upgrade to ver. 3.5.1

If you have the A4 nav card then you probably have 3.5.1. I don't believe the A4 nav card works with 3.0.2. That version used the A3 card. My guess is the dealership updated your car before delivering it you but never bothered to report the update. Run a vehicle health report when you are out driving next time. That will update all your version info. After that, go back and check syncmyride and see what version it says then.

I've had my Focus since January and have battled with MFT the entire time. When it works it is so good... but it has been a mystery what would happen each time I got in my car... until now (well at least the last 24-hours). Was in my local dealer yesterday for routine service and asked about the 3.5.1 upgrade and they did it for me (with the A4 nav card). MFT seems SO much better and stable so far... my iPhone 5 connects right up and bluetooth playback picks up right away where I left off. The touch feels WAY more responsive. Man I hope Ford finally got MFT figured out with this release... but so far so good...

I had the 3.5.1 update installed by my dealer a couple of weeks ago, including the A4 card for navigation. For the most part, it seems to be an improvement over 3.0.2 that I had installed previously. I have noticed one issue though:

I like to use shuffle all/play all to play random songs from an old iPhone connected via USB. If it happens to play a song that has multiple versions in multiple albums, it will play all versions of the song back to back. After this, it will start to play songs in alphabetical order instead of randomly. I am able to revert to random play by selecting play all again.

Has anyone else run into this?

It's an old bug still not fixed.
