New Owner :) Does this look right under steering wheel?
Hi all

New Ford Focus 2013 Hatchback Titanium owner here. Thanks for having me as a member :)

Quick question. I was vacuuming the rugs today and the area underneath the steering column caught my eye. I can see where the rug is cut around the steering column and break pedal. Is this normal -- can someone confirm on their vehicle? Not sure if there should be a covering there or not?

Car is less than a week old. I'm calling the dealer as well, but would like to confirm with outside peers :)

I'm not spending a lot of time at floor level but want to make sure everything looks oK. :)

Yours looks the same as mine, except you don't have a clutch pedal and a bracket for said pedal that attaches to that lone bolt to the upper left of the steering linkage.

Hence why it looks so empty down there.

mine appears to have a cover/boot covering the knuckle.

My 2012 (4/26 build) SE looks just like this, with the exception of the clutch pedal in mine.

I see no reason to have a boot on that u-joint, as it's not exposed to the elements.
