Anybody encouraging him to sell this car and not let the next buyer know it was in a flood is wrong on so many levels.

So comes the risk of buying a used car from a private seller as-is. Buyer beware and this is why a clean title (that could have been washed easily) and clean carfax mean nothing. Just as one shouldn't expect a particularly safe transaction with these documents one should assume the worst and pay what they are comfortable paying. He can save mankind's soul and advertise the flood or he could just sell it for scrap and not waste his time

Is it wrong only if you know for a fact that its been in a flood? What about if you bought it at an auction or estate sale and suspect it may have been but aren't completely sure? I see your point but until money isn't part of an auto transaction you can't expect all transactions to be ethically pure

Yes people get screwed all the time but you advising him to do it is just WRONG plain and simple. You talk about ethics where's yours?

Funny, I don't see anything in my post that recommended lying about the vehicles condition. I said to have it cleaned - its filthy. I said to mention ALL the issues and new parts. I said with a "clean" title its flood history will not be advertised.
The title thing is a fact and what he does with that information is his prerogative. Plausible deniability is ethically acceptable to you I assume?

There's too much "wrong" with it to offset what's "right" so I think you'd be lucky to get over $3500 for it.

Edit: Took a second look and the timing belt cover is missing. That makes me think the maintenance was not done with much care...

I think you'd have a really hard time getting more than $2500 if I'm honest. If I was a person who wanted to buy an SVT and I came out to look at your car, I don't think I would even stick around long enough for you to tell me about the flood damage. Its pretty rough man. You're probably going to have to put some money into it before you can sell it for a decent price.

Thanks guys for all the reply,, I’m just trying to get an idea of what people honestly thought about the car, that why I listed all the problem,, I’m not out to screw people. I know the car is a beater and have been thought it.. it’s a ok car driver it 5 days a week to work.. Does need work. i don’t expect much from it.. the car does have new timing belt and i do have the timing belt cover never put it back on just like the look without it.. again thanks for the reply
