is the SVT sway bar bigger than the stock one?

Yes it is by 1mm and, yes it makes a difference.

I'd go for it if I had not of upgraded my bushings a couple of months ago.

Sway bars will fit from 00-11, so as long as you have brackets to mount this bar it would fit, else you would need to get brackets.
