00-04 Focus Electric window nightmares..Questions please help!!
Long story short I own a 2004 Focus SVT but I've owned 2 other Ford Focus before and had to replace Electric windows somewhat often...BUT before I would replace the whole assembly, not I just want to replace the motor which is really what the problem is.
So its the first time I've had to do this on the SVT and it is the passenger side that went out (I have a 3 door hatch) and I have a few questions. I'm planning on only getting the motor itself since that is what went out and the rails and everything else looks fine.. Apperently when I go and buy a motor it actually matters from which side the motor is ?? is that really true even though the look the same and do the same job ?..(ex. front drivers side, rear passenger side) So since I have a 2 door I can only get a "2 door hatchback passenger side window motor" or can I get any "passenger side window motor" ????? I'm really confused....!!! I'm most likely getting a used one to save the money instead of getting it from ford with the whole assembly..or would you guys not recommend to get a used one ?? I would apreciate any help answering all my questions !! thanks in advance !!! |

Here's the motor off the passenger side of my '03 ZX3.
Note: one of the black rectangles is a foam piece, the other is the elec. plug. ![]()

I imagine you get more than just the "can", so if you get any of the gearbox, it is mirror image one side to the other, with no room to spare.
