will these tires fit?

i currently have 215/50/17 conti Pro contacts

i want to upgrade to 235/45/17 conti DWS

Tire rack says these will fit w/o any problems. Agree?

Only a 0.55% difference in diameter, so I don't see any issues there. Slightly wider tire - depending on the offset of the rim, you might get rubbing - but chances are you won't.

thanks,, that's what i thought.. the Ti has 235/45/18 tires and they have a rub stop but as i'm running 17 inchers i don't think ill have the same issue.

Well, the big thing with the 18s is the width. So you could have an issue, but there are people on this site that bought the OEM 18s and don't have any rubbing. So unless you're driving like a mad man, you should be alright.

I know you're after better handling, but this isn't the way to go. Too wide for a 7" wheel.

yeah.. thanks for bringing that up... I wasn't even thinking of that and the tire rack guy never mentioned it either.

w/ the SEL 17" wheels i think 235 is way too wide. and that 225 is as wide as i can go.

Why not just get the DWS in the stock tire size? It's not like you can't get them in that size...
