Painting Brake Caliper's= Which paint brand to use?

I'd like to paint my caliper's & I see a few different paint systems= brush on & spraying. Any input on spraying & then adding clear? By the way, instead of going w/ Brembo Red, I'm going w/ black. I see G2 brush on is good w/ lasting, but it goes on & doesn't look good. Rustolem spray= anyone? Header paint? Thanx again.

I had Dupli-Color caliper paint used on several cars and they worked out fine, including a corvette and Xterra (red and black)

i have the g2 kit waiting in my house for spring! from what iv seen it looks great

Have heard the G2 kit is suppose to be excellent. I know people have also used a number of high temp paints from diff makers. Header, caliper, engine, metallics from duplicolor, rustoleum, vht and g2.

I think the trick to the G2 is multiple coats.

I'd say most anything depends on the correct paint (it has to withstand high temps) and the surface prep (it can't be dirty or greasy).
Odds are the many of that not so stellar long term results are from poor surface prep. Remove the caliper, cover the piston and line and wash the caliper down with Acetone, twice. Let it dry and then apply your paint of choice. Even a cheap paint will hold better if the prep is right.

And black, you really can't screw that up. And I don't think it's worth a whole lot of thought on brand. All blacks are pretty much equal. If it does chip a little, brake dust will hide them.

I would use VHT caliper paint.. its very durable and once you paint it you let it dry for 30 minutes, and take your car on a drive for 30mins to heat up the brakes in which it will bake the paint and cure it.

I bought DupliColor brush-on from Amazon. No over spray and the paint does not look brushed on after its dry. I couldn't be happier with the results. I removed the silver spring clip during painting. I only put on two coats because I was in a hurry. I have a ton of paint left over. I even let my friend use some to paint the calipers on his new Ford Raptor.

I used VHT caliper spray paint on my old car and it stayed on for 5 years, no chipping or peeling, just the color sun faded a little.

I tried it again on the SVT and after many months it's holding up fine. The key is in the prep, get the caliper clean and the paint will last.
