Seafoam?
My dad bought me a can of Seafoam, should I use it? It says to put it in the gas tank with my gas. My car has 125,000 miles on it and seems to run fine.
Any tips are welcome Thanks |

Some say through the intake, some say through the gas tank... I say neither. Personal preference and opinions take its toll on this subject.

go for it, if you put it in your gas tank, prepare to replace your fuel fliter after about 2 tanks of fuel.

If you were about to store your carburated boat for the winter, maybe.
I sure as hell wouldn't run it through an EFI motor with catalytic converter. Read the MSDS, see what you are about to burn through your motor and cat. 40-60% pale oil 25-35% naptha 10-20% isopropyl alcohol What exactly are you trying to fix or cure by dumping a mixture of light oil, Coleman camping fuel, and rubbing alcohol into your motor? |

I always use to have good things to say about sea foam but I'm not to fond of it now. I will never use it in my focus, I have used it in my 89 Bronco ii because I wanted to clean somethings up and get better gas mileage, but most of the time there is no need to use it, and I've heard a lot of horror stories about the stuff

I just went through a full tank with seafoam. I would have done the vacumn lines, but I didn't have anyone to work the throttle for me. I should be doing my fuel filter later today. My MPG went from 28 to 25. From what I searched, that is expected. It should go back up after fill up or two. I haven't noticed any difference yet besides the mileage drop.

I usually throw a can in my gas tank. And throw a can in my oil about 500 miles before my oil change. I've done it through the vacuum lines too.

Great Stuff
I've used this stuff for 20 yrs. and believe in it. I put 90%in the tank,10% in the oil 100 miles before oil change. DO NOT run this additive in the oil more than a hundred miles as this stuff is a super detergent and it cleans everything extremely well. That's why it cost 8-10 bucks a can. I use one can per 3000. mile oil changes.168,000. miles and have never replaced a sensor. Honestly!
