You would probably enjoy the SEL more than the ST 90% of the time but it really is a case of apples and oranges.

Have you driven the SEL?

and are you paying cash or financing? Ford is doing a lot of 0% loans right now.

Do you want a very comfortable commuter car, or sports sedan? I would personally go with the ST if I had the means.

I was speaking from my own experiences.

99% of the time (i.e. except when accelerating and cornering hard), I like my Ti hatch more than any of my previous "fun" cars.

I traded in an E63 AMG with more than 500hp, and 99% of the time I do not miss the power at all. Don't forget you'll pay more for insurance and gas for the ST...

I drove an ST for a bit last week. It's the way to go if it's within your budget.

Hey man! Glad to see I'm not the only one on here from South Carolina...I'm located right outside of Spartanburg myself! As far as SEL vs. ST, I'd say wait for a slightly used ST, the SEL is nice and all but for me, I'd want the manual transmission and more power out of the ST.

I've been dealing with a salesmen in Greenville for a few months now at Fairway Ford, I'm probably going to order a Focus Titanium 5dr 5spd manual LOADED in Ruby Red with black interior.
