I wouldn't feel safe carrying anything less than that.... lawsuits, especially if you kill someone can easily go well over those amounts...

Which is why I do not have the minimum coverage...

So i can request taht if the repairs are more than half the value of the car?

Can I ask about getting compensation for diminished value because of the accident? not sure how that works.

that would be what you need the attorney for, and you have to go after the person who hit you for that. You have insurance to cover the repair and or replacement of your vehicle and those you damage.

nice lady or not, she hit you and doesn't have enough insurance. Request that she/her insurance pay for ALL damages. Ask your insurance agent to get further answers as that is their job. If you are not 100% absolutely positively satisfied, call a lawyer (the ball is in your court), and not one of those ones you see on the TV with the no fee bs, that only ends up in you getting little cash in your pocket, do some research, and call around. SoCal is swamped with Auto Injury Lawyers so it should not be hard

yea a guy at my office gave me a card to one, my insurance is going to cover all the costs of the repair and waive my deductable. I think they are going to get the money from her insurance or what they can get, but im not sure if i can talk to my claim adviser about lost value because of the accident and additional money for pain and suffering or if i can only do that with an attorney.

Ahh yes, that was a fun day. I drive under that bridge every day on the way home from work.

The paint marks are still on the concrete supports, in case you're curious.
