Sheesh... I am averaging 33 mpg my current tank... About 1/2 is bumper to bumper traffic with other half being a pretty dense highway with speeds ~60... Jealous of the upper 30's!

I'm in the same boat. Houston traffic sucks ass. 32 miles each way, about 10 miles of it bumper to bumper, 0-20 mph up and down accordion style.

I beat on it pretty hard once traffic opens up, but set cruise once it's clear enough. Fuelly.com averages me out to right at 31.

Nice! I just picked mine up and I am hoping for mid to upper 30's cruising at 75-80.

I'd say the sweet spot of our Focus is around 65-67 mph, not 75-80 mph. The 75 - 80 mph cruising should get you 29-31 mpg at best. I am talking from my experience on a long trip and using 91 octane gas.
At a steady 65 mph cruising speed, I got 39.9 mpg (OEM air filter at the time). This is a nice difference for a 10 mph less than your cruising speed.

Freeway only In getting 40-43 depending on wind. I have a 2012 SEL with the DCT, with no mods currently.
Im averaging 34-37 overall. Im using Shell 91 which has upped my mileage by about 3-4mpg on average, over 87.
I drive about 110 mile commute a day and then when I get to town I rive around the city about 10-20 miles a day.
Currently at 26k miles.

2012 SE sport package manual transmission.

at 47mph on cruise with flat terrain no winds 49mpg..

at 51mph on cruise flat terrain no wind 47mpg
Add hills and the mpg drops.. Add speed and it drops..add wind and it drops..

My highway mileage tends to vary a bit even though I usually set it on about 72 mph and cower in the right lane. I think it's because gas pumps' cutoffs vary, and with a 12.4 gal fuel tank you can get a different fuel load every time.

However, on a recent 1800+ mi round trip where all but maybe 10 miles was highway, I averaged 35.7. Some of it I ran the a/c, some not.

Mine is a 2012 SE hatch MTX dead stock. Currently has just under 26K on the odo.
