punching a clutchmasters cluch with aluminium fly

as the title suggests peeps

i find i get a sharp boost of speed when i punch/ dump the clutch

my setup is cmfx250 clutch, with aluminium fly,

do you recon my setup could handle the odd punch/ dump?????????

the guys at cfm responded to the above question with

"" i would not recommend dumping any clutch, but the cmfx250 should be able to handle that"

what do you guys think

I have the Stage IV clutch with aluminum flywheel. It sounds like your driving style is your on a rolling start and you want to disengage the clutch, rev it up and engage (or "pop") the clutch??? If I'm reading you right, that makes for a lot of drama and sensation but all the while you've lost momentum with what your doing with your right and left foot. But if that's what you want to do...expect shorter clutch life, control arm bushing life, motor mount life (there are 3 total) and finally, CV joints. Not to mention engine life.

The clutch can handle it (though it will shorten it's life-span) The thing that you need to worry about is the rest of your drive-train. Putting that kind of stress on it often will invariably lead to a blown cv joint or worse.
