Does the Cat bolt off of the header or is it one big piece?

The cat on the zetec will be inbetween the block and the radiator. And on the svt it will be under the engine due to the longer headers. And should be easier to remove than the zetec from what I understand. I have the zetec so I'm not 100% positive.

Actually removing the zetec cat is easier than the SVT's IMO...well actually they both suck removing due to weight. The hardest part was removing the EGR tube for me if I remember right. It's been years and years since I removed mine. I still have it hanging in the garage just in case they get crazy about emissions.

I always remove the fan assembly to get to the EGR tube. This will give alot to room to get a wrench on it. I usually use some channellocks instead of a wrench though. Start using some PB blaster the day before removal.

It's a ztec. I got it and looked at it more and checked the vin

My thing now, how hard is it getting the Cat off? Starting on it tomorrow.
Also, a little about the car, I did find out the one I bought(today) is a 01 zx3
The guy that had it put a whole new exhaust system on it, not sure what kind, a cold air intake and headlight assembly changed. Other than that it's stock I believe.
And once I check out this issue ill know a little more.
Does anyone else have an idea what it could be?
Symptoms: doesn't always start, sputters, doesn't accelerate fast, when I floor it while driving it it sputters even if I'm already going 40-50.

Also huge thanks for the link to that with all those pics. I'm feeling a lot more confident with this now.
Always worked on big old trucks with lots of room and simple set ups. So all this is decently new to me

Ok so I got that off and checked, it's fine. Put it back on everything hooked up again. Won't even turn over. Just keeps clicking under the hood.. Any thoughts?
