Rain light option

My 2012 has the option for the Rain Light in the configuration (although I don't have rain-sensing wipers, I do have the autolamp feature). Was wondering how this works, because from what I gain, it's supposed to turn the headlights on when the wipers are run if the light control is in any position other than OFF.

however, I don't see this happening, even though the Rain Light option has been set to ON in the Options in the setup.

Ideas? Could this maybe be a programming issue? Like I said, I don't have rain-sensing wipers. My car has the Winter Package and the SE Sport package as well, if that means anything. I also have the manual mirror (not the auto-dimming mirror), and I have Sync and Cruise (although I don't think that matters here).

It takes them a minute to come on, they don't activate right away from what i can remember...I haven't used them in awhile.

I thought mine were not working correctly either until I read this out of the manual.

Windshield wiper rainlamp feature (if equipped with autolamp)
When the windshield wipers are turned to low- or high-speed wiping
during daylight, and the headlamp control is in the autolamp position,
the exterior lamps will turn on after a brief delay and will remain on
until the wipers are turned off.

I have rain-sensing wipers, but is says here the wipers have to be in low or high speed. So I guess if you are in intermittent (rain-sensing for me) it will not turn on the headlamps.
