2009 Focus SEL airbag light on

Hi,

I have recently purchased a 2009 Ford Focus SEL. It's a nice but but has high mileage which is what broguth it down into my price range.

When I bought the car the airbag light was on. I have checked the codes and the car has B2293 stored as a hard code, it will not clear. When I check the airbag PIDs I have B1231 and C1414. My scan tool will show me airbag data, all looks normal to me (all around 2 ohms) except for the drivers airbag which has 2 readings (as does the passengers side) of 3 ohms and 10 ohms.

I believe B1231 and C1414 point heavily towards me needing a new airbag control module and if that is the case, could this module cause high resistance in the drivers airbag?

thanks in advance for any help.

Yes it can especially if the module is grounding out on the chassis somewhere, it will show high draw and trip an airbag light.

Thanks for the reply. What would be the best way for me to check this module? I don't have access to wiring diagrams or pin data.
