New Focus ZX3!

Hey guys i just bought a focus ZX3 with the 2.3l duratec it has some issues but got a good deal on it so i cant complain the first question i have for you guys is that upon start up the car will start good and then rev upto about 2750 rpms the guy i bought it from said it just started doing it one day and he never looked into it so i was just curious if that could possibly be because of the idle air control valve? if you guys have any other ideas please let me know thanks

I would pull the IAC and clean it with Gunk foaming degreaser. I have a 2004 ZX5 with the 2.3 and its super easy to do.

And welcome to FF

Sweet. I should have gone out of state to grab a 2.3L.

The 2.3 is a MONSTER. Lots of torque, takes well to bolt on's like exhaust and intake.

also check throttle position sensor. also advance auto parts will plug up to it and give you a error report for free. Hope to hear it is a easy fix.
