Clutch Replacement Service Record

Posting up my service bill to help guys with the shuddering issue on their Focus.

Maybe the part numbers on the service record can help someone out. Maybe also try to compare it to the part numbers for the newer 2013 models?

7B546 is the part number for both the 2012 and 2013 Focus DCT clutch. Don't know if this is the same part as when new, but at least it seems to be the current version.

Ya...they're still refusing to replace mine. Assuming it's because there's no noticeable leak on the exterior of the bell housing. Thinking about putting some fluid on the outside just so they'll do it. There's definitely something wrong with the clutches...anyone that's ever driven a manual car (or even a dual-clutch tranny) before can notice it as soon as you drive away.

Yeah, the part # is updated in the system (has been for a while now). I didn't pick up the part number difference, it was my service adviser that picked it up and even Ford told them not use the "old" part number when servicing my car.. so, I dunno.

I may have a stupid question - I have a Ford Focus SEL and have been having the same issues more so since I got the TSB. Do all Ford Focus' have clutches? I told my husband they do but he doesn't belive me.

For the 2012 and 2013 models, they sure do ("automatic" or manual). Hey, you're in Muk - I drive around there all the time!

Thanks for that - I even said somthing to my Ford dealer and he looked at me and said I don't have a manual. I told him I know but my car has clutches and things are not shifting correctly. I told my husband what I said to the dealer - and threw out are you even sure you have clutches. Made me question everything... Now I can be right

You poor soul for having to drive around Mukwonago j/k - it's a cute town. I work in Waukesha so I spend a lot of time out there. But I do like Mukwonago's wine bar..

Yes, all 2012-2013 Focus models use sliding gear manual transmissions with at least one clutch disk. The traditional manual is an MTX-75 and has a single clutch disk between the engine flywheel and the transmission. The "automatic" is a dual clutch automated sliding gear manual transmission with servos actuating the clutch and the shift forks/ shifter mechanisms. That means that there is a clutch for 1,3,5 and reverse and another for 2,4, and 6th) (arrangement might actually be 1,3,5 and 2,4,6,r but its the same basic principle).

I had same repair done on mine last week---- with approx 12k miles on it,,,, my bill was also 0;;;; I wonder how much the actual cost is?? Anybody know? Also Ford Rep--(are you reading this?) the warranties should be extended to 100kmiles or 10 years in good faith by Ford(come on Hyundaii does it ----we in the USA can do better!!! MJB
