because nobody has cracked the ecu yet, the claims are extreme and the price is way too low if they did have those results.

Good ECU/chipping companies, like APR, are mostly sold through quality independent service shops. In APR's case, there isn't an actually chip, it's an ECU reflash. Most of these independent shops will let you try it for 4-6 hours before you buy it. The cost is usually between $350 and $600.

There are some online sales for chipping as well, just make sure its a well known company that knows what they are doing. Just because someone cracks the ECU, doesn't mean they will keep your car safe.
