oil-less (Triplex Ceramic™ only) COMP turbo ?
Oil less COMP turbo does anybody knows anything about it?
how does it lubricate itself? pretty weird |

It's a multiviscosity grease. At temp it flows like an oil.
The CHRA has a larger flow area for coolant. There is a local guy who had one. I haven't talked to him directly and this is 2nd hand info but, from what I'm told he ran the turbo for about 6 months and it ate the bearings. It was returned to Comp for analysis. I'm not sure what's happened since. I do know that he's since switched back to a traditional oil/coolant BB turbo. IMHO, while a novel approach and a good US based company, I just don't trust the oil-less turbo designs. I'm far more confident in using tried and proven designs, which, IMO, Comp does quite well with their BB designs. |

Comps turbos are BBB (trip BB) , I have a customer with the oil less for about 10 months now hard 400HP driving and doing fine , you MUST run water to them and it MUST be run from the cool side of the raid not the hot side , do that and they seem to be living , all the ones I know that have failed were not run from the cool side of the raid or no water at all

Thanks guys just was wondering if someone has used them before
I'm right now will probably going to get comp with oil and water and ceramic ball bearing just need to choose which one is best for my application :) |
